New Moon in Leo: Why I Wake Early

The crickets are chirping and yet it’s broad daylight: the wholesomeness of this New Moon in Leo extends to everything like sun on an outstretched cat. With a tight conjunction to Mercury and a fiery trine to Mars, you’re off to the races riding the wave of your delight, even if you don’t take one trip or attend one party this week. Doesn’t matter: it’s too fun not to follow the surprises that appear and you’re too bored and lonely to wait for somebody else to invite you. No waiting. You’re learning to follow your heart and let it lead you to paths unknown. This influence has you feeling more connected with everyone you encounter and exuding warmth naturally without a lot of trying or faking. With Mercury, the planet of communication in its strong suit, you’re able to express ideas and feelings from the heart that normally feel embarrassing, gauche, or bloated. You’re convincing in your ability to talk frankly and you’re empowering yourself by trusting that you’ll know the right way to say what comes to mind.

The heavy Leo influence in the stars right now is pure light and confection, even with the tricky beams from Saturn. Leo naturally rules the heart and love—particularly of the paternal sort. Wear that self-love like a balm under this New Moon.  Your growth comes from learning to channel that hidden father love within to that aching inner child you’ve left neglected and alone. You’re learning to close some unhealthy chapters where you pretended to be something you weren’t to receive a love that wasn’t real. With Mars fastened hard to this lunation, you’re ready to shake free what’s been stuck inside you. It’s time for you to discover your inner inheritance and claim your crown, exactly as you were meant to wear it. You are owning yourself and commanding your transition to a higher state.

You may notice some heat in your interactions: be it romantic, angry, frustrating, or libidinous. The New Moon in Leo is poised to protect you from what you know is decidedly *not* wholesome, in favor of simple pleasures, home cooked meals, old friends, raw stories. You want what is best for you now, but you may struggle to accept what that is because it can feel too much, too real, too intimate. All New Moons address a monthly rebirth, and this particular one looks like an opening, épanouie, lighting up, blossoming. It’s about freedom and personal growth and realizing your own resiliency and capacity for never-ending change. You are more than the sum of your parts and you are learning to accept with courage the idea that you are irreplaceable. You’re learning Joan of Arc lessons over the next two weeks: others may not understand the voices you hear and you may not believe them, but they’re real for you and they’re meant for you to hear and share. You need to pay attention.

xoxo,

Hayley
