This is a nearly violent full moon with the emotional ferocity of an eclipse, but subtract fate. You’ve reached the Bonus Level™ where you choose your own adventure. The Full Moon in Leo is a fire tetrahedron beginning a massive chain reaction. There’s heat (emotion), fuel (an event that made you question your worth), and oxygen (freedom). Aquarian planets involved with this lunation are blowing cold air on a hot flame within. Your inner landscape has been dry and the conditions are perfect for a wildfire. You kind of just have to let it consume itself and take a step back from trying to control the process, because it’s natural and inevitable. What’s left of the scorched earth will be wet, warm, and fertile and release you from that static void you’ve gotten so comfortable with.

January was not for the tame of heart and this moon is not the time to remain in your little corner and continue with the status quo. This isn’t a time of reckoning, but it’s time for you to “volunteer as tribute” and be utterly brave. You’re about to find out how truly powerful you are and which specific powers you’ve projected onto others all this time. You may feel like you’ve lost all ground beneath you with all the planets in Aquarius—in a way, this freedom is startling after you’ve gotten used to survival mode. What was once a matter of trying to make yourself fit is now a realization that you are not from here and this is not your home. Story of the Selkie. Story of Swan Maiden. “Colleen” by Joanna Newsom. You think you “overwatered everything,” but you came from the sea. There’s nothing wrong with you, you’re just not who you think you are. Your gifts speak to the kingdom you come from and you’ve been away long enough. You’re going home at this full moon. There will be a situation coming up in the next two weeks that reminds you of your “real name.” There’s Anastasia vibes in February and a feeling of being seen and waking up.

On a more earthly level, you’re moving out of defensiveness as you make a few calculated choices that create boundaries around your inner world. If you build some structures that never fail and you never compromise on (Aquarius and Leo), you require less defense when you protect your castle. It’s time to straighten your crown and remember who you are. The message of Leo is wholesome and pure. It’s time for you to make choices that protect you. You knight others and honor them when you select what you want in your life instead of waiting to be selected. It’s always your choice, even if it doesn’t feel that way.

With soft and feminine moon signs, your feelings feel like your fault and can take you surfing on an abyss of complicated emotion. However, with masculine moons like this one, often the tears these emotions generate are angry and powerful. You cry for your freedom. You’re having a rebirth of the ego and taking back your power. The ego is the entry point for the soul, even if it’s often denigrated and wished away as being somehow impure. It always—I repeat—ALWAYS serves an essential purpose: sex and survival. You are entering an animal vortex where you suddenly are pushed to accept your own sovereignity over your experience. You are being elevated and taking back your power.

xoxo,

Hayley
