New Moon in Aquarius: My Mortal Coil

  • Moon conjunct Mercury - I love you

  • Moon square Mars - but I want to kill you rn

The tension is *palpable* Spellkittens™. This month we’re dealing with a ton of planets vaguely conjunct in Aquarius and this new moon is smashed up against all of them—particularly cheeky Mercury. You’re feeling lit up from within and highly, pressingly verbal. Ghosts of impressions are hitting you with florid abandon and you can’t help but instantly express your awe, gratitude, tenderness, or even and especially anger. You say what you mean at this New Moon in Aquarius because it’s time. You’re reveling in the Emperor’s new clothes storyline that’s upon you and revealing the purity of your intention by calling things as you see them and not a moment too late. You can’t help but be honest and reveal yourself.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Martian influences will direct you toward a deeper connection to your animal nature and your tender buttons. This is real. Everything you’re perceiving is designed now to get you angry, real, passionate, open. Expect to feel the coltish thrill of taking risks and departing from the regularly scheduled programming, no matter how temporary. It’s imperfect but wholesome and you’re getting inspired to gradually let go of your “rules.” You’re running on the energy of joy but refueling yourself with the negative emotions that come up instead of allowing them to suspend your motion. What a treat.

Your oddly alien self-perception during this intellectual salt bath of quiet time is a vacation from who you know yourself to be. Not everything is for you all the time and time itself is a wormhole you can crawl inside at this new moon. There are issues of will and action and most of all, the very Vonnegutien concept of “free will.” You’re piloting a journey that only your weird, wild inner animal could lead you on. I don’t think you’re connecting—I think you’re merging with a cosmic narrative that you were born to play. Like myth, you are aware of a great love and a hero who seeks it. Your honesty is a virtue and an asset, as you get to the heart of the issues you pretend to deal with daily. Kurt Vonnegut once said, “a purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved" and I believe that. Find your karass.
